International Endeavors

Image of Students at International TheaterThe College of Fine and Applied Arts has a long history of international involvement and the Dean’s office continues to recognize the importance that these activities have in the personal and professional development of our students, faculty and staff. Our college supports, encourages, and actively seeks opportunities for students and faculty involving international endeavors. These activities include short term faculty-led programs, semester or year-long exchanges, internships, presentations at international conferences, faculty exchanges, collaborative research, visiting scholars, and other types of programs with foreign universities or institutions.

The Dean’s office works in close collaboration with the Office of International Education and Development, the sister institutions, and the departments of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University for developing and programming these opportunities. Programs have included trips of faculty and/or students to Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, China, Cuba, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Rwanda, South Africa, and Taiwan to mention a few.

For more information with regards to international programs within the college, please contact Dr. Garner Dewey, Associate Dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts.
